Birthday Parties

Our birthday package includes a private party space for 1 ½ hours, 3 16” round pizzas, cut into 8 slices each (standard: 2 cheese and 1 pepperoni; can add extra pizza for $25 each), paper plates, forks, napkins, water station, individual apple juice cartons, ice cream novelties, a group craft, plush toy gift for the birthday child, and zoo admission.  The provided food, drinks, and crafts are intended for children only.  

Our birthday packages are suited for children turning 2 or older. If you would like to have a party for a child under 2, we offer catering services and beautiful banquet spaces to suit your needs. Please contact our sales and events team at (315) 435-8511 x8589 to discuss these options. 

Yes. Our birthday package includes zoo admission for up to 12 children (including the birthday child) and one accompanying adult per child (a $168 value.) You may pre-purchase additional adult zoo admission beyond the 1 adult per child at a discounted rate of $5 per ticket. Otherwise, additional adults may purchase zoo admission tickets at our ticket booth. Adult tickets purchased on the day of the event are $9 each. 

Our party package is priced and designed for 12 children. Our party space can accommodate no more than 15 children, so if you need to add to your guest list, please contact us. There is an added charge of $32 per child for the Birthday Party Package, up to 15 children. 

If you would like a party with more than 15 child/adult pairs (a maximum of 30 guests), we offer catering services and beautiful banquet spaces to suit your needs. No. We require payment in full at the time of booking. Your party must be booked at least two weeks in advance. We cannot book parties fewer than 2 weeks from the desired date. 

We offer birthday parties on Saturdays or Sundays at 10am, 12pm, or 2pm. If you are interested in hosting a weekday party, please contact our sales and events team at (315) 435-8511 x8589 to check availability. 

No, but our birthday party packages do include zoo admission. Guests are welcome to tour the zoo on their own before or after the party. If you have your party in the 2pm time slot, you will want to have your guests visit the zoo beforehand. 

The Birthday Party Alcove is an open space off the main HoneyBee Café seating area that uses our café seating. This space is sectioned off for the birthday party and remains a private area during the event.

The pizza and ice cream provided with your package is for children. Extra food can be ordered for adults from the HoneyBee Café (Order Ahead Here) the day of the party. Extra pizzas for the children can be ordered ahead of time, too.

We provide ice cream novelties for children only. You are welcome to bring cake, cupcakes, or store-bought treats to celebrate. The HoneyBee Café (Order Here) has a variety of add-on options available for purchase, too!

No. Animal encounters are not included in the Birthday Party Package. Because of our dedication to the health and safety of our animals, encounters for birthday parties are no longer available. 

Hosting guests can be greeted fifteen minutes before the start of the birthday party and gain access to the event space to decorate. Please note that any decorations must be minimal and completely removed before the end of the booked time slot. 

• When guests arrive at the zoo, they may go directly to Admission to check in. 

• The zoo closes at 4:30pm. If the party is scheduled for 2pm, you and your guests are welcome to visit the zoo prior to the party. 

• Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while at the zoo. 

• Please ask your guest to arrive promptly as the parties must begin at the scheduled time. 

• For the safety of animals and guests, balloons or piñatas are prohibited.  

• Your party provides admission for one adult per child attending the party. 

• Birthday parties are non-refundable and non-transferable. Our party space is indoors. Parties take place in rain, shine or snow. Refunds cannot be provided in the event of inclement weather, unless the zoo has been closed by order of Onondaga County administration.
