Come to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo during the fall and winter months! There are
many benefits, including a more flexible schedule. The spring and summer months
tend to fill up fast, so plan ahead!
The Education Department offers fun educational experiences for a wide range
of visitors. Whether you are a family, teacher, general visitor or representative
of a group, we offer programs to meet your needs and interests. Please click below

Educator Resources
Fee-Based Education Programs
Our education programs are designed to enhance the learners experience and
understanding of our natural environment. School programming is designed to fit
the NY Life Science Standards. Programs are open to Zoo members and non-members.
Custom programs are available and we will do our best to accommodate you and
your group. For more information, call the Zoo’s Education Dept. at (315)
435-8511.
Registration
Reservations are required for all programs. There is limited space in each
program so please register early. Zoo members receive a discount on all EdZOOcation
programs. For more information, please call the Education Department at (315)
435-8511. A minimum number of registrants is required to run a program.
Winter Weather Policy
All education programs, including edZOOcation, camps, and overnights, will run as scheduled unless the Zoo has been closed by order of Onondaga County administration. Sorry, but no refunds or rain checks will be given for 'no-shows' for any reason.
Special Group Programs
Scout groups, Rotary, Home school... if you belong to, or are active in any
of these or other groups and would like to arrange a custom educational program
on a specific topic, call the Zoo's education department (315) 435-8511. We will
work with your group to design a special program to meet your needs.
Fees, times and availability depend on the program content, duration and materials
needed. When considering such a program, please plan at least 6 weeks in advance
Preschoolers
Designed specifically for preschool-aged children ages 3-5 with one parent/adult.
Please help us by leaving toddlers and infants at home. Programs include snack
and craft.

Overnight Programs
at the Zoo
"Roars and Snores"
Don't miss these unique opportunities to experience first hand what
happens at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo after-hours! When the last
visitors leave for the day and the sun goes down, you can hear the
Roars and Snores of the animals as they get ready for the nighttime.
So grab your pajamas and sleeping bag, and get ready for a
"wild" night! Call (315) 435-8511 x205 for details on the next scheduled
overnight at the zoo!
