Catering at the Zoo

Edventure Academy

Edventure Academy provides a unique opportunity for you and your child to learn more about the animals at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo! Each session is specifically designed for the age group indicated and includes a craft, snack, biofact (skulls, fur, feathers, etc.) presentation, zoo tour and may include an animal encounter or keeper talk.

Edventure Academy

A parent or guardian is required to attend preschool sessions with their child; parents are optional for sessions for kids ages 6-10. Class size is limited to ensure that your child has the most educational and fun experience we can offer! Please help us by leaving toddlers and infants at home.

Pre-registration is required for all sessions; a minimum number of registrants is required to run all Edventure
Academy programming.

Fees:

  • Members: $18 per child/one adult pair per session
  • Non-members: $23 per child/one adult pair per session
  • $12 for each additional child or adult (member or non) in the same session

Join the pack as we visit the wolves on exhibit and make a howlin' good craft! This class is any lupine lover's dream come true!

Batty Brigade

Are you afraid of the dark or wish you had night vision? The zoo after hours is the perfect spot to spy on our late-night creatures. Come learn about how animals stay up past your bedtime with special sensory adaptations for nocturnal survival.



Family Twilight: Survivor! Zoo Style

For prey species, avoiding predators is a key part of survival. To protect themselves, these animals have developed amazing adaptations! Join us as we explore our animals' defenses-because no one wants to end up as dinner.

 

Consent and Waiver Policy

Every participant under the age of 18 without a parent or legal guardian on the premises during the education program must have a signed consent and waiver form on file with the education department. This form will be kept on file for one (1) year, so you only need to fill it out once. If your child's medical history, including food allergy or activity restrictions changes, please notify the education department to update your file at (315) 435-8511 x205. Cancellation Policy

If your child is enrolled and you must cancel for any reason, your registration fee is nonrefundable unless a child on the wait list can fill the space. If there is no wait list for the session indicated, we cannot issue a refund. In the event the cancelled slot is filled, a 25% processing fee will be deducted from your refund. We will not issue rainchecks or transfers/credit.
