Edventure Academy

 

Edventure Academy provides a unique opportunity for you and your child to learn more about the animals at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo! Each session is specifically designed for the age group indicated and includes a craft, snack, biofact (skulls, fur, feathers, etc.) presentation, a zoo tour, and may include an animal encounter or keeper talk.

Edventure Academy

A parent or guardian is required to attend preschool sessions with their child; parents are optional for 6-9 year old sessions. Class size is limited to ensure that your child has the most educational and fun experience we can offer! Please help us by leaving toddlers and infants at home. Pre-registration is required for all sessions; a minimum number of registrants is required to run all Edventure Academy programming.

Fees:

  • Members: $18 per child/one adult pair per session
  • Non-members: $23 per child/one adult pair per session
  • $12 for each additional child or adult (member or non) in the same session

 

Otter-ly Amazing! 

They're long, strong, and so playful! Come learn all about our zoo's otters as we watch them swim and play the day away! This class will be otter-ly awesome!

Twilight at the Zoo: March into Spring!

Friday March 18, 2016 from 6:30-8pm

As the trees start to bud, the days get longer and the air warms, the animals at the Zoo change too! This unique experience will give your family the opportunity to explore the Zoo in the evening with a zoo educator and learn all about how animals change with the seasons! This experience will include a personal tour of some of the best areas in the zoo to spot animals, a spring-inspired craft, and a spring-sational snack!

Tuition per session
Members: $20 per child or child/adult pair
Non-members: $25 per child or child/adult pair

Who's the best chef at the zoo? The animals know! Come explore the zoo's diet kitchen, try some of the same foods the animals here at the zoo eat, and learn how all our animals stay fed in this delectable class!

Do you know the difference between horns and antlers? Why are hooves so important to the animals that have them? Come ‘hoof it’ on the Wild Life Trail with us and meet some of our newest hooved friends!

Are you triskaidekaphobic? You won't have to knock on wood or cross your fingers to enjoy this exciting after-hours program! We'll explore some common animal myths, meet some animals up close, and make some good luck of our own as we explore the zoo after hours! This experience will include a zoo tour with an animal encounter, a lucky craft, and a superstitious snack!

Ribbit, Ribbit, Splash! 

Why are frogs so amazing? Come explore the Zoo's frogs and other pond life as we meet some frogs up close and explore the zoo's wetland exhibits in this hoppin' fun program!

Consent and Waiver Policy

Every participant under the age of 18 without a parent or legal guardian on the premises during the education program must have a signed consent and waiver form on file with the education department. This form will be kept on file for one (1) year, so you only need to fill it out once. If your child's medical history, including food allergy or activity restrictions changes, please notify the education department to update your file at 435-8511 ext. 124. Cancellation Policy

If your child is enrolled and you must cancel for any reason, your registration fee is nonrefundable unless a child on the wait list can fill the space. If there is no wait list for the session indicated, we cannot issue a refund. In the event the cancelled slot is filled, a 25% processing fee will be deducted from your refund. We will not issue rainchecks or transfers/credit.
