Lined Seahorse

Lined Seahorse

Seahorses are a mix of many different parts and abilities of other animals. They have the head of a horse, the snout of an aardvark, spines like a puffer fish, a pouch of a kangaroo, eyes like a lizard, the tail of a monkey and the ability to change colors like a chameleon.

Academy programming.

Fees:

  • Members: $18 per child/one adult pair per session
  • Non-members: $23 per child/one adult pair per session
  • $12 for each additional child or adult (member or non) in the same session
We are no longer able to offer the Friday classes at this time.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Bear Necessities

Climb on over with your favorite teddy bear as we sniff out the bear necessities of life. Our Andean bears are quite the "spectacle," and we will compare them to "beary" cute bears around the world. We'll build a craft with our "bear" hands and eat like our furry friends.

Eat or be Eaten

Hungry for some information? Let's "taco" 'bout food! Animals have to eat in order to survive, but no one wants to become dinner. We will prepare a delicious treat for an animal, explore the lunch boxes of some of our zoo animals, and compare their eating habits to our own.

Come dressed as your favorite super hero (or villain!) as we discover which animals have the power of super speed, strength, flight, and nearly x-ray vision. We'll crusade around the zoo to meet some of our extraordinary animals, like our axolotl, who may not have all of Deadpool's healing abilities, but is certainly close. This animal can regenerate perfectly: limbs, jaws, even parts of the brain! Get ready for a super snack and crafts as well as zoo-themed obstacles that will test and sharpen your skills and inspire us to be out of this world!
