Join the Rosamond Gifford Zoo’s education team for programs tailored just for your age group! These classes are perfect for children or anyone wild about learning. This includes our Wild Beginnings, Zoo Camp, and Kids’ Night Out programs.
FOR EDUCATORS AND GROUPS
Are you an educator looking to collaborate with our award winning education team? From in-person or virtual, in our classroom or yours, choose from unique offerings designed to enhance understanding of the natural world. We also offer Teacher Professional Development, and Project-Based Learning experiences. Don’t see something that you’re interested in? Custom programs are available upon request!
VIRTUAL PROGRAMS
Experience the zoo from anywhere with our Virtual Program! Whether it’s a live tour or a deep dive into a specific topic of your choice. Through interactive presentations and engaging discussions, you’ll learn about conservation, animal behavior, and the science behind wildlife protection.
SUMMER ZOO CAMP
June-August, we offer wild weeks of summer camp that are full of hands-on projects, performance, and games. Each week, campers will engage in STEAM challenges, animal encounters, zoo tours, create animal enrichment and practice conservation skills that will bring out their inner zooper-hero. At the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics have never been more fun! Registration for members begins 2/4/26 and non-members on 2/18/26!

Education is an integral part of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo’s mission, and we want to make it as accessible as possible! We provide links to free activity packets, educational videos, and crafts designed to meet the needs and interests of all ages while connecting you to the natural world!
Teen Pathways at the Zoo
These Zoo education and leadership programs offer youth and teens hands on experiences in conservation education and professional skill building. Participants may work directly with Zoo guests, support camps and special events, and develop communication, leadership, and teamwork skills while exploring careers in education, STEM, and nonprofit organizations. Programs include paid internships, free leadership opportunities, and camp scholarships so young people of all ages can learn, grow, and connect with wildlife regardless of financial barriers.
BOOK A GUIDED TOUR: Want to know more about conservation practices at the zoo, how to tell the elephants apart, or what the porcupine’s favorite treat is? Add a guided tour to your visit!
Non-members: $12 per person ages 11 & up, $8 per child 3-10 years, Free for ages 0-2 years.
Members: $5 per person ages 3 & up.
All tour groups must be booked through the Education Department. Maximum per tour is 15 people. Groups with larger numbers will be split into smaller groups.
