Join the education team for programs tailored just for your age group. These programs are perfect for home-schooled children or anyone wild about learning!


Family Camp

10 a.m. - Noon

A learning adventure for the whole family! Experiences may include a stem challenge, fun games and activities, an elevated zoo experience, an animal demo, and so much more. To finish, we will use the knowledge we gain to battle other families in a fun competitive game.  This is a great way to have fun with your family and experience Zoo Camp in a whole new way.

Community Conservation

10 - 11 a.m.

Did you know bird watching and taking pictures of plants can impact the world around you? Be the change in your community by bringing your passion for nature to Community Conservation with the Zoo!  

One Sunday a month, learn about what scientists are doing to help plants and animals, and be a part of the solution. From bird identification to native plant gardening, you will learn skills and work alongside peers to participate in real conservation projects. Collect data to contribute to current scientific research, get involved with local organizations, and find your own passion for nature.  

This program is free of charge, and open to the whole family, but you must register so that we know to expect you.

March 23: Animal Tracking
Have you ever wondered what animals in your neighborhood are up to in the winter? Learn tips and tricks to tracking and observing the wild animals that share our community at this month's Community Conservation meeting!

April: Migration Madness
Join us in welcoming many migratory species back to New York as winter comes to a close!

May: Ocean Actions
Prepare for World Oceans Day by learning about the beauty and critical importance of our oceans, the threats they face, and the role each of us can play in protecting them at this month's community conservation meeting. 

June 22: Insect Investigation
Investigate some of the smallest members of our ecosystem during our Insect Investigation! Learn about the role these small but mighty animals play in our community!
